Fequently Asks Questions
Some common questions about waxing and answered by “The Waxing Queen of Tucson” herself!
Q: How long should body hair be in order to get waxed?
A: Hair needs to be a 1/4 inch to a 1/2 inch long. Please try to stop shaving 10-14 days prior to waxing to give a smoother and longer lasting result.
Q: I am prone to ingrown hair. How do I help prevent these?
A. Exfoliate! In the Sonoran Desert it is crucial to get rid of excess dead skin cells! Mechanical exfoliation(scrubs, loofahs, and washcloths) help lift off the dead skin cells to release the trapped hair from the follicle. Regular waxing appointments spaced 4-6 weeeks apart will help to reduce ingrown hair. Please do not exfoliate within 48 hour prior to waxing service to avoid sensitivity.
Q: What about sun bathing or indoor tanning with wax services?
A: Avoid excessive sun exposure at least 48 hours before and after hair removal.
Q: Will I be sensitive after and if so for how long? - See more at:
A. Some clients do experience sensitivity after waxing. Sometimes this will last a few minutes and for a few rare people up to 48 hours. I personally recommend wearing loose clothing in case of sensitivity. You can also take an over the counter pain killer an hour before waxing. Remember, booking regular waxing appointments 4-6 weeks apart also minimizes sensitivity.
Q: Do you wear gloves?
A. YES! Let me emphasize yes! I wear gloves on body waxing to ensure a clean, safe environment. This is a standard practice by professionals in the field of aesthetics.
